He is a member of the Board of Governors of Tel Aviv University and the Board of Trustees of the Lantos Foundation for Human Rights and Justice. From 2009 until 2013, he served as Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister and as a Member of Knesset. From 2002 until 2006, Ayalon served as the Ambassador of Israel to the United States. Prior to his ambassadorship, he worked for half a decade in the Israeli Prime Minister's Office as the senior foreign policy advisor to Prime Ministers Benjamin Netanyahu, Ehud Barak, and Ariel Sharon. From 1993 until 1997, Ayalon served as Chief of Staff at the Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations in New York. From 1991 until 1993, he served as the Consul of Israel in Panama.
Ambassador Ayalon was a member of the Israeli delegation to the Wye River Plantation Summit of 1998 and the Camp David Summit of 2000. He served for three years as a captain in the armored corps of the Israel Defense Forces. Ambassador Ayalon holds an MBA from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and a BA in Economics from Tel Aviv University.
Klarina Shpitz is the Director of The Truth About Israel, a not-for-profit and non governmental organization for education about Israel for the past 9 years. She served as the Chief of Staff for Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon from 2009 to 2013, and as a parliamentary advisor in the Knesset to Itzhak Ziv, 2007-2009. She has a Masters degree in law from Bar Ilan University, and a BA in political science from Ben Gurion University.
